My program and coaching sessions are tailored specifically to your needs and will help you on your journey to embrace self-love and acceptance. Time to start your journey towards loving the skin you're in!
Hi, I'm Candice Nuyttens, and my journey with vitiligo began when I was just seven years old. My childhood was marked by a series of traumatic experiences that left deep scars on both my body and soul. I vividly remember the first white spot appearing on my hand, just after a traumatic incident and a tetanus vaccination. This was the beginning of a long and painful journey, one that would ultimately lead me to a place of profound healing and self-discovery.
Growing up, I faced immense challenges. My parents' toxic relationship led to their separation when I was just three, and I moved in with my grandmother. My mother, struggling with her own issues, often projected her pain onto me. She made it clear she didn’t want a daughter, which only deepened my feelings of inadequacy and loneliness. School was no refuge either—I was relentlessly bullied for my skin condition, with children calling me cruel names like "Spot Monster." My mother’s solution was to send me to school wearing a large hat and white lace gloves, which only made the bullying worse.
At the tender age of 12, I began using self-tanner to camouflage my vitiligo. Over the years, I became an expert at hiding my skin, masking my true self from the world. By the time I was 22, I had lost about 70% of my pigment. In an effort to even out my skin tone, I turned to Benoquin, a depigmentation cream that promised irreversible results. It worked, and soon I was completely white, my skin a blank canvas for my meticulous self-tanning routine.
Despite my efforts to appear "normal," the storm inside me continued to rage. My life was a constant battle with stress, trauma, and loss. My mother passed away at 57, and a year later, I lost my boyfriend to suicide. I was caught in a relentless cycle of fight-or-flight, always on edge, always struggling to keep my head above water.
It wasn’t until I discovered the power of hypnosis that I began to find peace. Hypnosis became my sanctuary, a place where I could finally let go of the tension that had been building inside me for years. Through self-hypnosis, I found a way to calm my mind, control my thoughts, and reshape my behavior. For the first time, I felt truly in control of my life.
Then something incredible happened: I began to repigment. Small brown freckles appeared on my snow-white skin, a sign that my body was healing. I started incorporating visualization techniques into my self-hypnosis sessions, imagining my skin gaining color, and slowly but surely, it did.
However, life has a way of pulling us back into old patterns. When my stress levels rose, my pigment would start to disappear again. It became clear to me that my skin was a barometer for my well-being, reflecting the state of my mental and physical health. I realized that to maintain my health, I needed to prioritize self-care and inner peace.
Over the years, I’ve experimented with countless diets, supplements, and lifestyle changes. I’ve spent hours researching health, autoimmune disorders, and vitiligo, always seeking the best way to support my body. Through trial and error, I’ve learned that the key to managing vitiligo lies in a holistic approach: a balance of healthy eating, regular physical activity, the right supplements, and, most importantly, keeping stress at bay.
It took a car crash and a burnout for me to fully understand the importance of self-care. But once I embraced this path, I knew it was the right one. I’ve rewritten my life’s narrative, replacing old, unhealthy patterns with a new, balanced way of living that brings me inner peace. Now, I listen to my body and soul—they guide me toward what’s best for me.
I wish I had learned these lessons earlier, but I believe that everything happens in its own time. My journey has equipped me with the knowledge and experience to help others on their healing paths. As a hypnotherapist, I’ve had the privilege of working with thousands of clients, each seeking the same thing: to live a life full of joy and self-worth.
With the Vitiligo Body & Soul Transformation Course, I’ve created a program that I wish had existed when I was younger. It’s designed to support you on your journey, offering tools for healing both body and soul, including visualization techniques for repigmentation. I’m here to guide you every step of the way, helping you to feel understood, supported, and empowered.
